Dominion Valley Country Club Wedding | Heather + Sean

Their Story:

How did you meet: (From Heather’s perspective) My best friend from high school and matron of honor, Lauren Viohl, went off to college at Old Dominion while I went to Virginia Tech.  Living in the same dorm together freshman year, Lauren became very good friends with Sean who grew up in Woodbridge…right down the road from when Lauren and I grew up.  While we were back home in Northern Virginia at the beginning of the summer, Lauren introduced me to her new friends from college with a fun night of laser tag.  Sean had his eye on me from the very first night.  We continued hanging out in groups and eventually started hanging out one-on-one and by the end of the summer we were dating.  Seven years later and we’re getting married!

The Proposal: (From Heather’s perspective) It was my last day at my old job; the first Friday in May.  Sean had been planning the proposal for this Friday for months and had not planned on me leaving work early, however, I had anticipated that my boss would let me leave early that day.  I remember getting several texts from Sean that morning asking me what time I would be leaving.  I thought it a little odd that he was bugging me about it but didn’t think anything of it and ignored his texts.  I finally left the office around 2:00 pm and headed to run some errands in preparation for my friend Lauren’s bridal shower.  While running my errands, I received a few more texts from Sean asking what I was doing.  It was about 4:00 pm when I started to head home.  I cracked open the door to a dark apartment.  Once I opened the door all the way, I saw a trail of LED candles (we can’t burn real ones) and rose petals leading to our living room and heard Brad Paisley’s “She’s Everything” playing softly in the background.  Sean was in a suit and down on one knee with a ring in his hand.  You can guess what happened next…he asked me to marry him.  At first I was confused but when I realized what was going on I obviously said YES.  Little did I know, Sean had been waiting anxiously in our dark apartment for 3 hours for me to come home…OOPS!

I loved Heather and Sean they were incredibly fun and amazing clients.  They got married at Dominion Valley Country Club.  The day was cloudy and we got lucky that the rain held off just as they had wrapped up the ceremony and last of our photos.  The clouds created a beautiful light for our entire day.  I loved the colors Heather chose for the bridesmaids dresses it was the perfect pop of color! I was so honored to be apart of their day!
